Jens Mueller leads several research projects, all with a global dimension and highly relevant to businesses. His emphasis is on demonstrating better ways to manage sustainable enterprises, to improve governance and to instil a desire for lifelong learning and improvement among executives and staff.
Based on his many years as CEO/Chair of global firms, Jens believes that academic research must be easily convertible into practical success by competitive firms, seeking to position their organizations for long-term sustainability.
Jens works with collaborative researchers from universities in many countries, and invites academics to inquire about opportunities to join some of these cutting-edge projects, including co-authorship of refereed journal articles.

Below is a list of current projects and publications: Research Projects:
Good Governance ("DIRECTIONS 2006"): A multi-national survey on how easily managers and investors have access to qualified directors, whether investors feel Boards adequately represent their interests, and whether directors act as directors or as managers. This work has strong corporate support and sponsorship from premier organizations.
Internat. Sustainability Acceptance Measurement ("ISAM"): A multi-national survey on how firms practice sustainability. Many firms talk about their sustainability efforts, but we believe fewer actually practice what they preach. This work compares how firms in many countries embrace the concept of sustainability.
Creating an Attraction Culture: A multi-national survey on what good firms do to attract and retain the best staff. Starting with the real estate industry, we investigate several industries to identify what the 'star performers' want, and what firms do to become a desirable employer.
Action Learning: A multi-national survey to determine to what extent action learning is an effective method to teach and learn business concepts such as entrepreneurship, and to validate if such an approach can be used to educate working managers more effectively than in the class room.
